Assessment
This unit includes seven different patterns and cycles that occur in nature. When we think about our planet Earth, we understand that patterns and cycles occur every day and every year. After learning about day and night, seasonal changes, animal migration, simple phases of the moon, tides, animal life cycles, and plant life cycles, students will complete an assessment.
Unit Test: At the end of the ten day unit, students will take a test that covers material from each topic within the unit. Test questions should include essential vocabulary, however, vocabulary should not be the targeted material. Test questions should include vocabulary within the questions and questions should be focused on how and why patterns and cycles occur in nature.
Student Science Notebook: Throughout the ten day unit, students will define key terms, sketch pictures, write short entries, attach foldables, record and analyze data, etc. in their science notebooks. The students' notebooks will periodically be checked for completion of assignments. The students' notebooks will be graded according to completion and organization of work. (Grading Rubric)
